London Swimming proudly presents it's Sports Science Programme aimed at supporting clubs and it's members through improving performance and achieving Swim21.
We have created a variety of options for clubs to choose from whether it needs to be an education session, or a more personal session such as a one to one. The sessions can be delivered to athletes and parents or coaches, and there is flexibility around the options to ensure the delivery meets the needs of the club and it's audience.
On our team we have a Sports Nutritionist, Sports Psychologist, Physiotherapist, Osteopath and a Strength & Conditioning Coach, all of which have worked with performance athletes ranging from County right through to Olympic standards.
The Team
Martin Macdonald – Sports Nutritionist

Martin is the Nutritionist for the GB Olympic Weightlifting team and also acts as a consultant to the Leicestershire Police Force. He has been featured in national newspapers (e.g. The Independent and The Sun), giving expert advice on various exercise related topics. He has also contributed to fitness magazines, including Men’s Health, providing information on both nutrition and training.
He offers advice tailored to meet individual needs and encourages his clients to take responsibility for their own goals. Martin aims to improve his client’s self-awareness while educating them on up-to-date training and nutrition principles. He considers it vital that this process continues with on-going support and inspiration.

Jonathans’ background is mainly sport based, having played semi-professional football in Suffolk and Essex . His interest lies heavily in musculoskeletal disorders and in particular sports injuries and rehabilitation.
