This week Colin Brown (RD) had Aquatic Strategy meetings in Greenwich, Barking & Dagenham and Hackney. Colin also visited Ealing to look at potential venues for a mobile pool in September 09. A big thank you to Johnny Wright from Ealing Swimming Club for giving up his time to tour the Borough.
Next week: Colin has meetings with the London Development Agency, Newham and Tower Hamlet Councils. Colin will be facilitating the Aquatic Strategy meeting with Barking & Dagenham Clubs and Council. Colin will also be looking to “hire” ‘apprenctice style’ from a crop of MSc graduates to do a placement with London Swimming over the summer. Colin will also be welcoming Alex Davies on board as the new Swimming co-ordinator for central London.

This week Jo Calvino (Aquatic Development Programme Co-ordinator) was in Loughborough meeting with various staff in Education, and meeting with sport science professionals who could potentially be involved in the sport science packages soon to be launched in London.   Jo is also working a number of master classes soon to be hosted at Brockwell Lido.

This week has seen Jo Melchior (Project Manager)  has been working alongside her colleague Ben Campion to finalise the documentation for the Mayoral Mobile Pools programme as well as visiting potential sites for the pools in September & January. Jo has also spent time concluding some outstanding matters relating to the Everyday Swim Project in Lewisham.

This week Jemma Konuralp (Swim21 Quality controller) had a fantastic assessment with Camden Swiss Cottage and set up assessment dates with Greenwich SC.  Next week she is taking two days annual leave after which she will be presenting Bethnal Green Sharks with their swim21 certificate.

Bastien Wallace (Project Manager - Barking & Dagenham) Last Sunday Bastien braved the rain & mud to complete the Barking & Dagenham 5 mile run and see Daniel presented with his Olympics award for attendance over the last term.  The rest of the week was a successful one of meetings – including a ‘lessons learnt’ session to help us amend and refocus the projects efforts in the second year.
