London Swimming Spring Conference - Saturday 23rd May
London’s Spring Conference will take place on Saturday 23rd May at Colfes School, London, SE12 8AW. The focus will be on club development with specific training workshops offering help and support to all clubs.  Some places are still available, so to book a place on any of the master classes on the day click here.

Play Sport London 2009 funding aims to help clubs and community groups to provide free sport, physical activity and coaching opportunities, for people to participate in across London in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and beyond.
Funding is available for all sports and physical activities, ranging from sports coaching sessions to sports festivals and sports club open days.

This week Jemma Konuralp (Swim 21 Quality co-ordinator) visited Croydon Amphibian's masters section and Enfield SC in respect of their accreditation and Borough of Waltham Forest in respect of their re-accreditation.  Next week she is visiting Croydon Amphibian’s waterpolo and teaching section and Waltham Forest Diving Club regarding their revalidation.  Jemma will also be attending the National Panel next week.
 
This week Jo Calvino (Aquatic Development Programme Co-Ordinator) has spent time concentrating on her tutor training attachment with Ellie Purvis. Jo has also had meetings regarding facilities and the sports science programme, whilst catching up on correspondence surrounding the Spring Conference on May 23rd, which still has some spaces available for Team Manager Training and How to teach disabled performers. This week  Bastien Wallace (Project Manager, Barking & Dagenham) tabled the first report of the Sheffield Hallam University on Get Wet! Swim for Free Steering Group.  It’s good to have the first analysis to help reflect on how we are doing and the issues that need addressing prior to going into the busiest time of year. Bastien is on annual leave from the 14th May.
