ASA London Region Special Council Meeting

Notice of Meeting

In accordance with Rule 12 the Board of ASA London Region are requesting a Special Council Meeting which will be held in the Dance Studio at Southbury Leisure Centre, Southbury Road, Enfield, EN1 1YP on Saturday 6th December at 12.30 pm.

The purpose of the Special Meeting is to consider the following Resolution:
     
“To amend the following clauses

25.1.5.1 be a member of a Club affiliated to London Swimming; changes to
25.1.5.1 be or become a member of a Club affiliated to London Swimming;
25.1.5.2 be appointed by the Board from nominations received from clubs; changes to
25.1.5.2 be appointed by the Board from applications received

The resolution is to enable the Region to advertise the post of Chairman externally as well as internally. This follows on from our unsuccessful attempt in October 2008 to appoint from the two nominations received from clubs. In the interim Vernon Davies was appointed as acting Chairman.

The person we are looking for is someone who can ensure the ambitions set out in ‘A strategy to Get London Swimming 2008-2012+’ which is endorsed by Boris Johnson the Mayor of London and Sport England. This is a very exciting time for London Swimming and we hope to have a new Chairman in place by early in the New Year.

Clubs are entitled to send the number of delegates as determined by Rule 10.
Each Club should receive the correct number of Delegate forms, but in the event that these are not received, these may be downloaded here.  The Delegate Form, properly signed by an appropriate Officer of the Club, must be presented to the Registration Desk at the SCM for validation and to receive a ballot paper.
