London Swimming Annual Conference
You are invited to this years Annual Conference, taking place on Sunday 14th
September at St Pauls School, London SW13 9JT, www.londonswimming.org
 
We have an exciting programme lined up which includes a variety of master classes for Swimming, Synchro, Diving & Water Polo being lead by top National Coaches and Olympians, such as Tony Ally & Jerome Read. There will be workshops for coaches, parents, officials & the second Annual Youth Council, for the athletes to have their say. The Olympic Development Agency will be providing an update on the 2012 Aquatic Centre, as the presentation of the London Swimming & Aquaforce Awards will take.Full details are available on www.londonswimming.org
 
Colin Brown (RD): At the beginning of this week Colin attended meetings in Loughborough, followed by meetings and calls with a variety of journalists promoting good news, aquatic stories.
Next week Colin will be presenting to the Greater London Volunteering and advising on aquatic volunteer opportunities across the London Volunteer Centres, as part of the Competition Workforce Development, attending an Aquatic Centre Stakeholder meeting and making final preparations for the London Swimming Annual Conference, and the exciting programme we have planned, we hope to see you there go to www.londonswimming.org

This week Jo Calvino (Aquatic Programme Development Co-ordinator) spent time confirming coaches and guest speakers for this years Annual Conference and Council Meeting on Sunday 14th September, visit our website for more details www.londonswimming.org. Jo also had her final assessment for her Certificate in Tutoring Sport, and spent time making contacts and focusing on getting master classes organised across the disciplines, so keep your eyes on the Master classes page of the website.
 
This week Janna Callan (RDO) has been busy in Barking and Dagenham. Janna organised an all day evaluation and planning meeting with key people in Barking and Dagenham, to establish lessons learnt from the summer activity and establish pool programmes for the term and half term periods. Janna also spent a whole day with each centre briefing staff, listening to their feedback and answering questions. 
Next week, Janna will be assisting Colin Brown in the interviews for the full time project manager for Barking and Dagenham. Janna will also be meeting with London Sports Forum to discuss Inclusive and Active across London Swimming.
 
This week Jo Melchior (EDS – Lewisham) has really geared up work on the Lewisham Learns campaign, with several meetings with partners and colleagues who hopefully will assist with making it a great success. All the advertising images have been agreed and we are now deep into the planning for delivery stage. Jo also assisted Janna with a meeting with representatives from Barking & Dagenham sharing the learning from Everyday Swim, and in particular comparing this Summer's Free Swimming for Young People in the respective boroughs. This week was also an opportunity to meet up with Rita Martelo, our terrific graphic designer, to discuss an art based project for very young swimmers.
 
This week Jemma Konuralp (Swim21 Quality coordinator) conducted further interviews at Griffins Swimming Club in respect of theiw Swim21 accreditation and attended the London Board Meeting. At the end of the week she is flying out to Beijing to watch her husband Dervis Konuralp compete in the 100 fly, 200IM and 100 breastroke in the s13 classification.
 
Nikola Jovanovic (West London Waterpolo coach) –  Returning from annual leave this week Nik finished his final assessment task from sportscoachUK for his CTS qualification, and will, after summer break, start again with the mini polo sessions in Brent, Ealing and Hillingdon.
