This week Janna Callan (RDO) led the London Swim21 Panel; two diving clubs have been put forward to the national panel for accreditation on May the 14th - Janna looks forward to announcing the accreditations in mid May and hopes that one of the clubs will be the first diving club nationally to be accredited at two levels (teaching and skill). Janna also met Erith and District Swimming Club to assess their Swim21 application for swimming and synchro and hopes that they will be accredited in the summer.
Next week Janna will be meeting with the London Synchro Committee and working on some up dates for the London Swimming website.

Next week Cathy Carr (RDO) will be attending the staff Thames 21 cleaning session and meeting with the RDO's. Cathy will also be working on Swim 21 and will be away from Wednesday 8th-14th May.

This week Jo Calvino (RDDO) attended the swim21 LDN panel, having 3 diving clubs/sections being put through, which are the first in London. She also had a meeting with the South East Diving Group, and tidied up a few lose ends with the FINA Diving World Series (24/25 May) Legacy Plan. After the London Team meeting Jo met with Ben Campion to discuss the Talent Id in the London pro-active sub regions and how to move it forward.

This week has seen Jo Melchior (EDS – Lewisham) attending a course on how to research and engage with Eastern European Communities. It was a fascinating insight into an emerging market that will have a huge impact on London and the UK over the next 5 to 10 years. Jo hopes to share the knowledge gained with her colleagues at a subsequent Theme Day. The rest of the week has been spent organising some new activities in the Borough, mainly centering around disabilities. She has also spent time with colleagues discussing the results of Free Swimming Summer 07 in Lewisham, and looking at lessons learned to assess how to make this year's event more worthwhile for the young people of Lewisham. Next week sees Jo taking some Annual Leave, hopefully the sun will reappear.

This week was a very productive week for Annabel Kehoe (EDS - Islington). Twelve Aquaterra Leisure staff attended the in-house training for the Liquid Swim Programme. The staff members, from all four Aquaterra pools, will now be ready to deliver the Programme, which will be available to all new and existing members of Aquaterra Leisure sites. Also this week considerable work was done for a swimming magazine aimed at the under 16’s, that will be distributed to all Islington schools prior to the summer holidays.
Next week Annabel will be ensuring the implementation of the Liquid Swim Programme runs smoothly into all wet sites and organising the pool programmes for the summer holidays.
