The ASA is very keen to capture information around club capacity via its on-line club questionnaire. 
 
Headline News: London Swimming has called a Special Council Meeting http://www.londonswimming.org/news/article/display/235 to consider a resolution to allow the investment into a company that manufacturers mobile pool. The meeting will take place at Southbury Leisure Centre, Southbury Road, Enfield, EN1 1YP on Sunday 16th March at 12.30 pm. All swimming clubs have been mailed with details and delegate forms. Any clubs not receiving this information can download it from our website (see above).
Colin Brown (RD) This week: The highlight of the week was seeing the first Strategy documents arrive at the office. The printed version has been mailed out to all clubs this week. You can download a copy from our homepage www.londonswimming.org If you would like a printed copy then email london@swimming.org making sure you include your postal address.
Next week: Colin will be attending a West London Sports Conference, meeting with Barking & Dagenham Primary Care Trust about investing into swimming to tackle health inequalities as well as attending the Pro-Active Sports Awards Ceremony where London Swimming has been short listed for 'partner of the year'. Colin will also be attending the Special Council Meeting (see above) to consider the investment opportunity into a company that manufacturers mobile swimming pools.
Next week Cathy Carr (RDO) will be attending the "2012 Winning Benefits for West London" conference. Cathy will be assisting in delivering a Club workshop evening with volunteer centres in West London on Tuesday 11th March. This workshop is for aquatic clubs in West London who wish to increase their volunteer workforce through linking with volunteer centres - for more information and booking contact: cathy.carr@swimming.org
Cathy will be attending the Coaches Forum and catching up on administration.
 
Masters News - the Masters Committee are compiling a database of Masters Clubs/sections for the London Swimming website. If your club has a Masters section please contact cathy.carr@swimming.org with information. Also the Masters Committee will be organising a fun pre-Christmas competition and would like to encourage new people to the sport or those who do not normally compete. This will be an exciting and different event and the Committee are seeking any sponsorship opportunities. Please contact cathy.carr@swimming.org for more information and to get involved. This week Janna Callan (RDO) has been recovering from illness. Janna has been working on some Swim21 documents and assessing evidence from Erith and District Swimming Club for their Swim21 application. 
Next week Janna will attending the London Synchro meeting and meeting with Paul Robins from Redbridge Swimming Club. 
Last week Mark Griggs (REO) had a number of different meetings, including, meeting with Fusion to discuss the Regional Education Network, and attending the Regional Coaching Working Group for London and meetings to discussing how to roll the new funding around Aqua Extreme. Mark would like to remind everyone that the 66% skills active coaching bursaries are only available until the end of March, and the criteria has changed to include those working leisure centres. Last week Annabel Kehoe (EDS-Islington) had meetings with all the General Managers of Aquaterra Leisure's pools to discuss the implementation of various programmes and activities for 2008. Islington also had its first steering group meeting of the year, which saw some very productive outcomes.
 
Next week Annabel will working closely with Aquaterra marketing to fine tune the planned publications for the year and their required timelines. She will also be working on the final steps of implementation of the Liquid Swim Programme at Ironmonger Row Baths, as well as progressing Highbury Pool.
 
This week Jo Calvino (RDDO) has been putting together a PESSCL bid for London Diving to establish basic levels of diving programmes within pools that currently do not have programmes, but do have the depths available to do so. Jo has also been working on the event pack for National Skills, as well as attending the SW team meeting in Gloucester, and the London TDC. Meetings have been set up in Waltham Forest and Jo has been finalising details for the World Series Legacy and this weekends SE/SW recorder training and SW athlete development day.
 
 
Michelle Weltman (Disability Mentor Coach) - Last weekend I was with The London Disability squad at the national junior championships in Sheffield, all the swimmers recorded PB's and many came home with medals. This month I will be finalising dates for the London Disability squad sessions, meeting local authority officers form Hackney and Tower Hamlets and attending a meeting in Newham to look at pathways for disability swimming in the Borough. I will also be attending a number of PESSCL sessions in these boroughs
